Renovating a house can be a daunting task, especially when you are dealing with a dated 1950s house in South Dublin, where the entire house needed to be brought into the 21st century. In this house, the original bathroom layout included two small separate bathrooms upstairs. This split bathroom was typical of the time and had a toilet in one door, and the basin and bathroom in another. This layout allowed people to use both halves of the bathroom at once – given that in a busy household, this was the only bathroom space.
The new homeowners wanted to create a modern functional large main bathroom upstairs and add a second guest cloakroom downstairs. To achieve this, the stairs were moved back in the hallway towards the front door and a return was added, enabling them to extend into the large landing at the top of the stairs. This clever move created additional space both upstairs and downstairs for the required bathroom spaces. The new guest cloakroom bathroom is the perfect fit for the necessary toilet and basin. In this space, they kept it simple. To achieve this look, check out the STRATA corner basin, SYNCH Round Bottletrap, HARROW Basin Mixer and the space-saving VIA WC.
Meanwhile, upstairs the two small separate bathrooms were combined into one larger bathroom. A large bathroom was created with ample room for a bath, large shower, vanity, storage unit and toilet. Even with all of this, it is still a spacious bathroom. With the assistance of SONAS Showroom Advisor Sandra, the homeowners choose the STOCKHOLM Vanity in Ocean Blue with chrome handles, the OSCAR Double Ended Bath, the SCANDINAVIAN Universal Wall Column in Ocean Blue Matt, the SCANDINAVIAN Bath Panels in Gloss White, Slate Offset Quadrant Tray in White, STYLE Offset Quadrant Door and the SANSA Illuminating Sound Mirror with Bluetooth to inject some tunes in the space.
The new bathroom was designed to be modern and functional, with high-quality finishes and fixtures reflecting the homeowner's distinct style. The STOCKHOLM wall-hung vanity unit was the inspiration for the colours in the space.
