“During the pandemic I really fell in love again with the house, the proximity to the sea and the great community where I live. I decided to invest my energy in making our home work for the family and fix all the things that were bugging me. Absolute top of that list were the bathrooms." So the house has been literally remodelled to accommodate four new bathrooms with a lovely master bathroom beside the master bedroom and the creation of three ensuite bedrooms.
Wall hung toilets and units make the space below bigger, with stunning views from the bath.
Lorraine continues: “I got great ideas and expertise from visiting their (SONAS) huge showroom, where you can get a free consultation on what products will work in your home. To be honest I would have thought that all bathroom products are pretty similar. My focus initially was on things being aesthetically pleasing, but there are lots of new innovations in the market place, bathroom furniture with great storage options, toilets that are much easier to clean and use far less water when flushed and all kinds of other ways to modernise your bathroom and make it more practical for everyday living and more environmentally friendly. "
Another thing that Lorraine wanted in the bathrooms was to carry the hardware colour through to make sure that there was design cohesion in the space. Most of her bathrooms have gold hardware, from showerheads to taps to handles to accessories. This makes a bathroom appear streamlined. Its vital to mention this to your plumber beforehand as for many all taps are equal, but having the hardware the same colour makes the space appear much more considered.
Overall Lorraine is very happy with what she has created and how her home is working. Solving the bathroom situation has made the house work much better for everyone.
